Did you know that each May, key Scouting volunteers and professionals gather for the BSA National Annual Meeting?

This year, the meeting was held in Nashville, Tennessee, at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. Here are a few fun facts and tidbits from the three-day gathering:
-A proposal was made during the business meeting to add the term “studious” to the Scout Law!
-Two events from 2013 were highlighted at the business meeting: the 2013 National Jamboree, and “A Century of Honor,” the popular presentation chronicling the history of Scouting in the Church.
-Another general Church officer, Sister Rosemary Wixom, was nominated to the National Executive Board.

At the National Recognition banquet on Thursday evening, Brother David Beck and Sister Rosemary Wixom both received the Silver Buffalo Award.

On Friday evening, an LDS reception was held for LDS Scouters and guests. Members of the Young Men and Primary general presidencies were in attendance and spoke to the group of approximately 140 people.
