Now that 2016 is in full swing, how’s your new Cub Scouting program going? Last year a freshly designed program was released after a major overhaul of the outgoing program. Improvements included adventure loops; incorporating the Scout Oath and Law while retiring the Cub Scout Promise and Law of the Pack; and a program designed to be better, easier to implement, and more fun.

BSA blogger Bryan Wendell provides an overview of the new program and several resources. Read his blog here.
Mark Ray gives a detailed look at changes in a Scouting magazine feature article, Everything you need to know about the new Cub Scouting program. He writes, “All that’s really changing is how the ideals and advancement methods are implemented.” In addition, the new adventure loops “focus on learning by doing instead of learning by listening. Requirements are full of words like build, play, go, find, demonstrate and discover, not words like discuss, learn and share.” Read the full article here:
