NEW name & look for Vanguard Religious Award!
We are EXCITED to announce a NEW name and look for the Vanguard religious awards available for Scouting youth 11-17 and adult Scouters! The Vanguard religious award will now be known as the Vanguard Duty to God Award.
Reflecting our Latter-day Saint Scouting history, the new name and look for the Vanguard Duty to God Award pays homage to Latter-day Saint Scouting awards in the past – in both name and design.

Requirements for the youth award remains exactly the same. For the adult Vanguard Duty to God Award, the options for electives have been refined in the “Family Relationships & Family History” and “Missionary Preparation” sections. When an adult Scouter participates in a reflection interview to discuss their work on requirements, they now have the option to conduct that with a spouse.
The Vanguard Scouting religious award for Cub Scout-aged youth remains unchanged. The Light and Truth Award is a wonderful opportunity for Latter-day Saint Cub Scouts & Webelos to earn their official religious emblem.
All Vanguard Scouting awards are the official religious award for members of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and their friends who are registered with the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) or a Scouting organization approved by the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).
